This first week has been a week of drinking from a firehose of information. We are replacing Elder and Sister Madsen from South Jordon, Utah. They have been so helpful and kind in helping us. There is much to learn and our responsibilities will be great.
Sister Weitzeil is training to be the new Vehicle Coordinator (keeping the mission’s vehicles maintained and operational, and helping to prepare missionaries to get their drivers licenses, .etc.). and Elder Weitzeil is the new Financial Secretary (he coordinates mission expense payments, training missionaries on fund usage ,etc.). These are responsibilities we have not had before, but are very critical to the efficient running of the mission office. The Mission Office is attached to the Mission Home where the mission president lives. It is located between two streets in Edinburgh. The property is surrounded by tall rock walls. It is a beautiful neighborhood.
I am learning to drive on the left of these narrow city streets that often have cars parked on one or both sides of the street. With one week under my belt, I am feeling less terrified to drive. It is difficult to drive snd enjoy the experience. Today I drove through a roundabout that had six incoming lanes and six exits. Despite the driving challenges, we are so honored to be here. We love the people and the city.
Is this picture of the mission home? How close is your flat to the mission office? We have such fun (and terrifying) memories of driving in Ireland. Our rental car was a manual transmission so we had to maneuver shifting gears left handed, as well. You’ll be a pro in no time! Thanks so much for your service! We love you!

Yes, the picture is the Mission Home. It was built in the 1800’s. The first occupants moved into the home on 11 April 1874. The Church purchased the property in 1962.
