After a 13 hour trip, our new home is Edinburgh, Scotland. April 7th, 3:00pm, we flew from Salt Lake City, Utah directly to Amsterdam, Holland. Our concerns were our bags meeting weight limits, and getting bags through customs. It all passed just as we had hoped. Our flights were smooth as glass. After a 3-hour lay over, we had a short 1.5-hour flight to Edinburgh.
We were met at the airport by our mission president, President James McCrudden and driven directly to the mission home to meet Sister McCrudden and some of the office staff. They had kindly prepared a meal. We visited and received a tour of the office/mission home. The mission home is beautiful with beautiful rooms (more on that another time). The president’s assistants drove us, and our car, to our temporary “flat”. It was an exciting trip and wonderful to be having this experience together.
I can see why you didn’t take your accordian Sister Weitzeil. Ha
We are excited to hear more about your mission, service, etc. (and keep the pictures coming – they are great)
Happy to know you are getting settled in and meeting the staff. Keep us posted when you can.
You’re there!!! It’s amazing to think about packing suitcases to sustain a 23-month adventure! But, undoubtedly, you’ll be able to find anything you need there. We love the pictures and sharing this experience with you!
Oh our dear friends, what a beautiful place you are in. Exactly what we would expect. You have had a whirlwind of a few months, haven’t you? I’m going to try to find where we can write a proper email, we want to keep you up with our “doings” as well. Much love to you, we pray for the missionaries and hope you are healthy and getting used to the climate. Janice Foster & Doug, of course!
